Taxpayers on a £5 each-way Lloyds Loser

A City friend was at Ascot the other day, queueing for his winnings. He got talking to a woman in the queue. What did she do? She didn't like to say but she was a banker. That's OK, said my friend, I was a banker once. Where are you from? Lloyds Banking Group, on a team building exercise. They has each been given £5 to put on horses. Now, I wouldn't want to be a spoilsport but that £5 was, strictly speaking, public money. Lloyds, to it's credit, spent a couple of days trying to identify the team but drew a blank. "We're a huge organisation". I doubt the team in question will be coming forward.
